VOW For Girls Cover Letter

To Whom It May Concern,

I’m Tiffany Malone, a creative, visionary, and storyteller with a heart for people. I am so excited to apply for the Creative Director position at VOW For Girls. Often I like to think back to the time when I felt my happiest and it always goes back to the first day I taught my confidence-boosting workshop You Are Queen to young ladies at the “We Are Girls” Conference. To see those girls affirm themselves, uplift their peers, walk with confidence, and dance around without a care in the world filled me with so much joy. I bring you to this moment because as the Creative Director of VOW for Girls, I’d be honored to create and represent a brand that supports, protects, and empowers girls.

I have a Journalism degree with a minor in Political Science from Howard University. There I sharpened my storytelling and digital media technical skills. The stories I told were always about people. Whether it was a story spotlighting a clinic that helped former prostitutes stay safe and off the streets or a story about the lack of access to healthy foods in urban areas. Through words, video, and care, I was able to objectively tell stories that encouraged change.

After college, I worked in every side of the digital creative space. Through starting a YouTube channel I learned how to grow an online audience, through podcasting I learned how to edit audio, through blogging I learned how to develop websites, and from being a micro-influencer I learned how to take photos. I used these skills to secure jobs as a digital storyteller. For the past 9 years, I have worked with non-profits and for-profits to grow, rebrand, and tell their unique stories.

With my skills in storytelling, videography, photography, website development, social media management, copywriting, graphic design, email marketing, and project management I know I’ll be able to bring the VOW for Girls brand and its many stories to life.

Thank you so much for your time. I look forward to meeting and hopefully working collaboratively with the VOW for Girls team. Please let me know if you have any questions.

With Gratitude,

Tiffany Malone
